Happy Birthday Hayden!

On Sunday, Hayden celebrated his first birthday with a bang! Hayden woke up in a great mood. It was almost like he knew it was his special day. We made pancakes and got the house decorated after breakfast.

Around 2, all Hayden's guests showed up and the party started. Jake's parents (Chuck and Jeanette), grandparents (Barbara & Charlie), grandmother (Tekla), aunt and uncle (Virginia and Tom), cousins (Grant, Laurie and Alexa), my parents (Jim and Tammy) and my brother (Kyle) all came to have fun with us.



We had pizza for lunch, then dug in to the cake.



There are several pictures of the cake, because I made it! That's right, the ENTIRE thing. I wasn't willing to pay $625, so I made it all myself. It turned out pretty darn good if you ask me!


Hayden loved mashing into his own little cake and helping daddy open all his presents.

The boy was spoiled!

We have come a long way in just a year. I still cannot believe that the strong little boy I have now is the same sick baby I had in the NICU last year. What a difference a year makes.
