FIRE!

We took a break from packing today and went on a field trip.

The local fire house invited the mom's club to come and check it out. Hayden loves all things trucks, so there was no way we could miss this!

Hayden was not shy about getting
right up there to take a peek.

He was too nervous to sit in the driver's seat
(it was pretty high),
so we settled for the backseat.

Hayden had a blast going around all the trucks and ambulances. I was really impressed too, that he didn't push any of the buttons!

We had fun, but it's time to get back to packing. Ugh.

All Boxed Up

Inside one of those boxes is my sanity.

It's hiding from me. I don't blame it.

We are moving.
Friday.

It is not going to be a fun weekend.

At least someone is having a good time.

Check up

This is what happens when Hayden gets bored.

Mom gets creative.
After waiting for the doctor for AN HOUR, I had exhausted all my options.
It came down to my camera.
I let Hayden snap some pictures.

Terrible picture of me, but hey, I'm usually the one behind the camera.

Mom's turn.

Hayden took about 2 dozen photos and then we decided it was time to open the door and look for the doctor.

Hayden's stats: 36 inches - 28 pounds

Hayden went from being a huge monster baby to an average toddler.

If there is any truth to the old wive's tale that you are half your height at 2, Hayden should be 6 feet tall when he is grown.

Hayden is perfectly healthy and I do recall the doctor commented on his above average intelligence. He must get that from me.

Life, continued...

And the birthday celebration continues.....

This is what happens when you have family that lives out of state...your birthday is celebrated for weeks! Hayden loves it! His Grandma Tammy and Grandpa Jim sent him a box full of gifts.

I think he liked them....can you tell?

Ever since he was a tiny baby, Hayden has LOVED blankets. Any size, any type, as long as it resembles a blanket, he will love it.

Hayden immediately threw it on the floor and asked Bailee to wrap him up in it. Grandma and Grandpa also sent several cute outfits and a toy, but his new quilt won the top prize!

As a reward for the girls AWESOME grades, I took them to a local art studio and we painted ceramics. This was such a fun night!

Me and my forthcoming masterpiece!

Bailee and her super cool monster bank!

Bostyn and her sweet peace box!

Our finished products. Eat your heart out Monet!

This past weekend I was in Utah and

Uh....me....well it is MY blog isn't it? My favorite cousin Eva took this picture.

We did nothing to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. :(

I wore green and dressed the kids in green,
but we had a full day of doctor and dentist appointments and I had no energy left.

BOO! Bad mommy.

There's always next year right?

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

Celebration

We've been celebrating Hayden's birthday in grand style. His first celebration was Saturday night at his Grandma Jeanette's house.

It was a dual party, because Grandma's birthday is the day after Hayden's.

I made a cake and we sang "Happy Birthday."

Hayden didn't know what to think. He kept staring at us like we had all just escaped from the loony bin.

Sunday we took some long overdue family pictures.

The celebration continued when Hayden opened his presents from Chuck and Jeanette. He took one look at this backpack and fell in love. He wheeled it all over the house. Grandma even put treats and an outfit inside.

He really loved the outfit. Can you tell?

Then Monday, on his actual birthday, we celebrated again as a family. This was Hayden's first experience with blowing out candles. He didn't know what we were doing lighting his cupcakes on fire at first, but once he figured it out, he loved it! We let him blow out the candles a few times.

After the cake came the presents. He LOVES his new Little People farm.

In a few weeks, I'll post the last portion of celebrating, because we are planning a big western style bash in April to celebrate our little cowboy.

Happy Birthday Jeanette and Hayden!

I'm Two!

Two years ago today, Jake and I were blessed with a beautiful baby boy.

Hayden was born 4 weeks before his due date. He arrived Saturday, March 7 at 4:01 a.m. and weighed 6 pounds 10 ounces. He looked and seemed healthy, but a few hours after he was born, his breathing was ragged and he was seemed to be gasping for air.

The NICU ( Newborn Intensive Care Unit) nurses examined him and decided he needed a little extra care. He was taken to the NICU and hooked up to an IV and given surfectant to help his under-developed lungs. Hayden spent several days in the NICU before he was able to come home.

Hayden the day after his birth

Hayden grew so much his first year, that you would never guess he was a sick, premature baby. At his one year check up, he weighed a healthy 25 pounds.

We all love this little guy to bits. He truly rules our house. He cracks us up everyday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAYDEN!

St. Patty's Decor

This is as decorated as it gets at my place for St. Patrick's Day.

I found this cute printable over at While He Was Napping and decided to finally use the frames I found at Goodwill. I spray painted them green and then embellished them with some ribbon flowers that I whipped up. I kept one for myself and gave one to my new best buddy.

Ann-Margaret's SpecialTea Shoppe

I'm am loving the mailbox these days! Look what I found inside yesterday!

I also won this pendant in the giveaway from A to Zebra Celebrations. This gorgeous necklace came from Ann-Margaret from Ann-Margaret's Visions.

I am seriously drooling over this necklace!! Isn't it fantastic? Ann-Margaret even sent some tea samples with my pendant! You couldn't ask for a more fun surprise in the mailbox.

Thanks again Ann-Margaret! The pendant is amazing and I've gotten so many compliments!
