Instead of buying the usual...aka boring...ties and t-shirts,
I wanted to get a little creative this year for Father's Day.

So the kids and I made Jake a hero box!
After all, he IS our hero.

....and the inside
A closer look at all the goodies
We also gave him this...
After opening presents and a few dozen hugs and kisses, we packed up and made the drive down to Jake's parents' farm.
Sunday after breakfast, we loaded up the boat and headed down to the lake. When we stopped for gas though, we realized we weren't going to make it much further, because of this....
Luckily, we had everything we needed to fix it
and we were back on the road.
Good thing, because who would have wanted to miss this?

We even got Hayden out on the tube!
Ouch.
It hurts even more the next day.
Apparently water-skiing at 31 and water-skiing at 16 are two very different things!
I am so lucky to have such an amazing father for my kids. He is supportive, loving, funny, patient, and best of all, a great teacher.
Happy Father's Day!

What a cute gift idea! Looks like you had a fun day. :)
So much fun! I tried to get creative too. The kids had a blast! I too have discovered that a lot of things are different when you are 16 vs 31 :)
I love that pic of your three kiddos zonked out in the car ride. =) Such good family memories... Very sweet!
