Island Getaway

In desperate need of a family vacation, we set our sights on Savannah, Georgia...Tybee Island to be exact. We left Friday morning and drove through Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and finally arrived in Georgia.

After dumping our stuff in the condo, we headed to the pool to cool off.

Then we walked along the beach. We were amazed to see these HUGE cargo ships coming into the port. They made the yachts look like bath toys.

After swimming and relaxing, we headed back into Savannah to have dinner. We walked down River Street, where you can see the ships up closer.

Saturday, we went to the beach and did a little sight seeing in Savannah.

Monday night, the girls watched Hayden while Jake and I went out to dinner.

After dinner, we had reservations for a ghost tour. We spent fifteen minutes on the tour listening to the guide give us a history lesson. No ghost stories or anything. So we bailed and went on our own ghost tour around the cemetery and police station. Savannah is home to the oldest police station in North America. It is said to be built on part of the old cemetery with 700 graves underneath. FREAKY!

Tuesday morning, much to all our dismay, we headed home. We had a great trip and we cannot wait for our next one.

We are now trying to convince Jake that we NEED a vacation home on Tybee Island. :)
